RUKAYAT is an associate of the firm. She attended the University of Ibadan and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2018. She has been in active practice since then. Rukayat has 4 years of working experience as a lawyer. She practices in diverse fields of law such as litigation, commercial law practice, corporate practice, and taxation, amongst others, where she honed her commercial litigation skills before joining Fortress Solicitors as an Associate.
Rukayat is currently an associate of both the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). She has been very active in our dispute resolution department while developing her skills in corporate law and cross-border transactions, working in liaison with relevant departments of the firm.
Since joining Fortress Solicitors, she has been involved in all aspects of legal practice, including advising clients on varied interests and offering due representation to clients in various courts and tribunals, including the Investments and Securities Tribunal, the Tax Appeal Tribunal, the Lagos Multi-Door Court House (LMDC), the Federal High Court, States High Courts and the Court of Appeal. She also undertakes company secretarial work for the firm.
Rukayat hopes to bring innovative tax solutions to existing and emerging cross-border tech and e-commerce companies by helping them reduce their tax exposures while staying compliant with the tax laws of relevant countries.
